Automatic Transmission, Made in Japan
There's a scene in the movie "Back to the Future" in which Marty explains to his scientist friend that "all the best stuff comes from Japan." Maybe not all of it, but I respect the quality of Japanese-made products.

Parts Group: Transmission
This also explains why the automatic transmission of my 1991 Volvo 240 Wagon is still working flawlessly even after 25 years, and in spite of (as far as I can tell) being neglected. It was made in Japan.
The metal plate on the transmission has printed on it "AISIN AW CO., LTD" and then "MADE IN JAPAN" and "MODEL NO. 03-70" to the left, and to the right there is "1208" with below that number, a stamped number of "602." The "SERIAL NO." field has a "C" printed in the center of the field, and to its left is a stamped number of "904" and to its right, a stamped number of "80954."
